On Thursday, October 19 at 6 p.m. EST, several organizations will gather with the Anderson community to discuss redistricting issues. Common Cause Indiana, The League of Women Voters of Indiana, Indiana Local Redistricting, and the Anderson branch of the NAACP are organizing this meeting.

The event will feature experts and local leaders involved in a lawsuit against the Anderson Common Council for not redrawing district maps by the December 31, 2022 deadline. This meeting follows a recent report that gave Indiana a "D" grade for its redistricting process. Attendees will learn about how redistricting impacts voting power and why reform is needed at both state and local levels. Questions from the public are encouraged.

The public meeting aims to educate attendees on redistricting efforts in Anderson and nationwide while highlighting the importance of transparency in Indiana's government. It will take place at Flagship Enterprise Center, located at 2705 Enterprise Dr., Door A, Anderson, IN 46013.
