The Indiana Chamber's fourth annual Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana tournament has begun, with a record number of 90 entrants from over 50 cities. This year, the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) is co-hosting the event.

The competition, inspired by Hoosier Hysteria-style tournaments, features products from various manufacturers across the state. "With all the great makers and re-manufacturers entered this year, winning – or even making it to the final four – won’t be easy," said Vanessa Green Sinders, Indiana Chamber president and CEO. The contest aims to highlight Indiana's diverse manufacturing sector that contributes significantly to its economy.

Elaine Bedel, IDDC secretary and CEO, emphasized the importance of manufacturing in providing opportunities for residents. "Indiana’s evolving manufacturing industry employs roughly 527,000 Hoosiers," she stated.

Participation in the contest is free and open to companies with products manufactured in Indiana. The tournament consists of seven rounds and will conclude in early December. Voting periods are specified for each round on the event's website.

Last year's winner was Hoosier Racing Tire for its racing tire product. Previous winners include Janus Motorcycles and Maple Leaf Farms.

Awards will be presented at the Best IN Manufacturing Awards Luncheon on December 11 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Sponsors include Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Kalenborn Abresist Corporation, Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories, and Kimball Electronics Jasper.

A complete list of participating companies is available online.
