The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has honored U.S. Senator Todd Young with the Guardian of Small Business Award, recognizing his efforts to support small businesses in Indiana. The award is the NFIB's most prestigious legislative recognition.
Senator Young expressed his gratitude for receiving the award, stating, "I am honored to receive the Guardian of Small Business Award from NFIB for my efforts to promote and support Hoosier small businesses. As the son of a small business owner, I know how important they are to our state’s economy. I will always fight to support Indiana’s small businesses."
Brad Close, President of NFIB, explained the significance of this recognition: "The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Senators with a demonstrated record of supporting America’s small and independent business owners." He added that during this Congress, small businesses faced significant challenges such as inflation, labor shortages, and tax pressures at various government levels. The organization commends Senators who supported Main Street by voting for measures aimed at reducing taxes and eliminating burdensome mandates.
The criteria for receiving this award involve lawmakers voting in alignment with key issues identified by small business owners at least 70 percent of the time during the 118th Congress.
