(INDIANAPOLIS) — The Indiana Best Places to Work in Manufacturing® contest returns for a third year to celebrate the state’s extensive manufacturing industry. The survey and awards program, presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, honors Hoosier manufacturing employers that are making their workplaces exemplary.
“Manufacturing has long been one of the pillars of the Indiana economy, and we’re thrilled to honor the stalwarts in this sector that not only make a dazzling array of innovative and unique products but have created some of the best places to work not just in Indiana, but the nation,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders. “The first two showcases drew applicants from all corners of the state, and as we continue to spread the word about this program, we’re seeing interest intensify and expect the field to grow.”
This initiative builds off the success of the Indiana Chamber’s popular Best Places to Work in Indiana awards, which began in 2006.
To determine the winning manufacturing workplaces, a comprehensive assessment is conducted via a two-part survey. Employer and employee data sets are combined to determine the honored workplaces.
Applicants must be a manufacturing operation; have a physical operation in Indiana; have at least 15 full- or part-time employees working in Indiana; and have been in business for at least one year.
All collected employee input will be presented in an interactive online reporting tool called the Employee Feedback Data Dashboard. It will allow each employer to view data by graphs, charts, and tables. Standard downloadable reports containing responses by demographic, employee comments, and benchmarks will also be available.
Companies that make the list will be honored at the 2024 Best IN Manufacturing Awards Luncheon in December and highlighted in a special Indiana Chamber publication.
Last year’s program saw 17 companies recognized with Kalenborn Abresist Corporation of Urbana, located in Wabash County, repeating as champion.
The Indiana Best Places to Work in Manufacturing® program is supported by spirit sponsor Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Purdue MEP), gold sponsor Kalenborn Abresist Corporation, and silver sponsor Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories. In addition to the Indiana Chamber, it is presented by BizVoice® magazine and the Wellness Council of Indiana.
Sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact Tim Brewer at tbrewer@indianachamber.com.
