The DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District and the City of Auburn Water Pollution Control department will be hosting a rain barrel workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
The free hands-on workshop will be held at the Auburn Water Pollution Control department, 2010 S. Wayne St. Space is limited, and registration is required.
Those attending the workshop will learn more about stormwater control and the benefits of constructing a rain barrel. After the discussion each participant will be able to construct a rain barrel to take home.
Rain barrels capture water from a roof and hold it for later use such as watering lawns, gardens or indoor plants. Collecting roof runoff in rain barrels reduces the amount of water that flows from your property.
To reserve a spot, contact the DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District at jknudson@co.dekalb.in.us.
