DePauw Collects Road Win at Denison

Mya Shannon scored 17 and Riley Mont 16 to lead DePauw to a 56-41 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Denison. The Tigers improved to 8-7 overall and 3-1 in the NCAC, while the Big Red dropped to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

DePauw trailed briefly, 3-2, before going on a 13-4 run on the way to a 17-12 advantage at the quarter break. The Tigers scored 12 straight during a stretch of the second period to extend the margin to 15. DePauw took a 35-21 lead into halftime.

A pair of 7-0 runs during the third period propelled the Tigers to a 50-29 lead as the teams headed to the fourth and DePauw stretched the margin to as much as 24 points on a pair of occasions with Denison scoring the final nine points of the game.

Mont paced DePauw with a career-high 10 rebounds as the Tigers held a 51-28 edge on the boards. Maura Fitzgerald dished out five assists in the win.

Hannah Wynn and Molly Fisher each scored eight for Denison and Abigail Westmeyer grabbed nine rebounds.

DePauw shot 41.4 percent from the floor, while Denison connected on 28.3 percent and hit 6-of-21 from 3-point range. DePauw committed 14 turnovers to Denison's 10 and the Tigers outscored the Big Red in the paint, 36-12.

The Tigers host Kenyon on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m.
