The Bethel College Men's Soccer team took on the Sterling Warriors on a chilly October night on the pitch inside Thresher Stadium. Both teams traded turns scoring goals in each half as the contest ended in a 2-2 tie.
The Warriors opened up the scoring in just the 8th minute of the contest.
Jaime Guardado evened the match after a shot was saved by the Warrior keeper and ricocheted out to Guardado where he finished off the attack by finding the back of the net.
In the 51st minute, the Warriors took the lead back 2-1.
Kevin Applewhite found the second equalizer of the night for the Threshers following a great passing sequence from Lucas Pardo and Juan Demichelis. Pardo whipped around reversing the ball from far to near, where he found Demichelis who played a beautiful threw ball to the right side of the goal for Applewhite who finished off the sequence by beating the keeper to the far post.
Neither team was able to get the decisive goal late in the second half despite both sides having multiple chances.
Bethel out-shot the Warriors 20(8) to 7(3).
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, October 22nd as they take on the Tabor Bluejays in Hillsboro, Kan. at 3:30 PM.
