City Accepting Applications to Serve on the Bloomington Redevelopment Commission

Meeting 04

City of Bloomington recently issued the following announcement.

The City invites residents to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Bloomington Redevelopment Commission (RDC). The RDC oversees housing and neighborhood development, 

investigates opportunities for economic development and redevelopment in the city of Bloomington, and creates economic development areas, areas needing redevelopment, and 

Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts.  

The RDC meets twice a month on Mondays at 5 p.m. in City Hall. RDC members must reside within the City limits during the entire term and be at least 18 years of age. Service 

requires an estimated commitment of four to five hours per month. Members receive no compensation for serving on the RDC.

The application is available at https://bton.in/39LDU. After applying, members must be appointed by Mayor John Hamilton.  

Prospective applicants are urged to attend a meeting of the board or commission of their choosing prior to applying. Meeting schedules for each body may be accessed by clicking 

on the links above. All meetings of the City’s boards and commissions are open to the public.
