The All IN for Democracy coalition, a group advocating for democratic processes, has called on House Speaker Todd Huston to act on his concerns regarding significant changes to election laws proposed by the Senate. The coalition is urging him to halt the progress of SB10 in this legislative session.
This week, the coalition addressed a letter to Speaker Huston highlighting various issues with SB10. The bill would prevent students from using their student IDs for voting, increase the complexity of voter registration for election clerks, and generally worsen the administration of elections in Indiana.
Julia Vaughn, Executive Director of Common Cause Indiana, stated: “This bill is a far-reaching and unnecessary proposal that further complicates Indiana’s voting and voter registration process. The All IN for Democracy coalition was encouraged that Speaker Hudson expressed concerns, and we would encourage him to put a stop to these harmful changes to Indiana’s elections.”
