Brad Close, President of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), recently appeared on Fort Wayne’s Morning News with Kayla Blakeslee on WOWO-AM 1190. During the program, he addressed concerns regarding a potential tax increase affecting Indiana's small businesses and advocated for making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

The deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 tax law to provide small businesses with a competitive edge against larger corporations. It has been instrumental in helping these businesses navigate economic challenges over recent years. However, this provision is scheduled to expire at the end of 2025.

Close highlighted that the Main Street Tax Certainty Act could secure this deduction permanently, thereby preventing a significant tax hike for many small businesses across America. He urged Indiana residents to encourage their lawmakers to pass this act before the expiration deadline.
