Supporters give over $90K to Trine on Giving Tuesday

Trine University raised over $90,000 toward student scholarships on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The university received $91,075 throughout the day from 223 Trine alumni, employees, parents and friends.

“We’re grateful for everyone who chose to invest in Trine University and its students this Giving Tuesday,” said Kent D. Stucky, J.D., vice president for university advancement. “Every dollar received helps students afford a quality private education, and equips them to lead, succeed and serve.”

Giving Tuesday, held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, has been celebrated since 2012. Intended to counter more commercial post-Thanksgiving events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday seeks to celebrate and encourage charitable giving internationally at the beginning of the holiday season.
