Carmel High School started a local chapter of the Computer Science Honor Society three years ago and has seen enrollment grow yearly. The organization was 25 members strong for the 2019-2020 school year; more than 75 members joined this year! The group is comprised of elite Computer Science/STEM-minded students.
The Computer Science Honor Society is a program offered by the national Computer Science Teachers Association.
One of the most significant and impactful efforts across Carmel Clay Schools is the annual "Hour of Code" event. Each year, Honor Society students teach hundreds of 4th graders to code. The day benefits both high school and elementary students, nurturing an interest in computer science with future STEM leaders.
