VanOort and Cummings Lead the Attack in 3-0 Sweep over UNOH

 The Warriors continued their perfect run Wednesday night in the Schaefer Center with a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Racers from the University of Northwestern Ohio. Set one featured a slow start for the Warriors, falling behind before finding their attack and taking control. Tech had a .414 attacking percentage, with Emma Westra leading the team with four kills and Havilyn Cummings tallying three. The racers featured seven kills from Logan Thomas but hit .185 as a team. The Warriors finished set one with a 25-20 win.

Tech set the pace in set two, taking an early lead and never looking back. In set two, the Warriors never trailed the Racers. Noelle VanOort stole the show in set two with six served aces and a kill. Taylor Sorg and Taylor Paul both recorded three kills of their own. As a team, Tech's attacking percentage was .500 for set two, and the Racers hit at .091. Tech won set two 25-13.

The Warriors also never trailed in set three. Noelle VanOort served another ace to bring her tally for the night to seven while adding three kills to get to five. Havilyn Cummings had three kills in this set to bring her total for the night to eight, a team high. The Tech attack struggled more in set three, hitting .042 percent, which put them at .310 for the night. The Warriors closed out the night with a 25-18 win in set three to complete the sweep and move to 9-0 on the season.

Tech looks to continue its winning streak Friday, Sept 9, taking on Goshen College in the first round of the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament. Indiana Tech has won the last four meetings with Goshen, most recently on October 9, 2021, recording a 3-1 win at home.
