2022 Fall Schedule Released for Trine Men's Golf

3

The Trine University men's golf team has announced their schedule for the fall 2022 season. The Thunder placed third last year in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings and qualified to compete for the conference's at-large bid to the NCAA Championships in the spring. In the three-round event, Trine finished second, narrowly missing their second consecutive appearance at the year-end tournament.

Head coach Noah Warren will take the men's team to a pair of two-day events to start the 2022 campaign, the Lou Collins Invite on September 2-3 and the Irish Hills Invitational on September 16-17.

Next up, the Thunder will host play on September 20 for the Ken Venturi Invitational at Zollner Golf Course. That will be the final tune-up before the conference jamboree events begin.

There will be six rounds of MIAA golf, just as last season, and the team that produces the best average score will be declared the conference champion. The top four teams will compete for the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championships in the spring of 2023.

The first jamboree will take place on September 26 at Wuskowan Players Club. Next, Alma will host the second MIAA event at Pine River Country Club on October 1.

Trine takes a break from conference play when they venture to Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio to take part in the Region 5 Preview on October 3-4. After that, it's back to facing league opponents at the Hills of Lenawee Golf Course for the third jamboree on October 8 and two days later at Kalamazoo Country Club.

The MIAA Fall Championships will take place at Kaufman Golf Course on October 14-15. These will be the fifth and sixth 18-hole rounds in conference play. An MIAA Champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the event
