City of Boonville recently issued the following announcement.
Starting 1/19/2022 N 3rd Street will be closed from 7am to 5pm between Sycamore and Mill Streets. East side sidewalks will be open.
This is the beginning of the major 3rd Street Project that will continue through the summer. Utilities will be put underground, there will be new sidewalks on both sides of the street,
aging water and sewer lines will be replaced and 3rd Street itself will be repaved.
This Phase I Project will extend from the square to near or just past Olive Street and is part of a long term plan that will eventually extend to the Stonehaven Subdivision. Phase II
is in the planning stages and is still down the road. In terms of completion it will be several years, but the gears are turning.
