The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2025 Best Places to Work in Indiana list, featuring 150 companies from across the state and over 20 industries. This year marks the 20th edition of the initiative, with honorees set to be ranked in five size categories at an event on April 30.
Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders commented on the importance of this recognition, stating, "We all recognize that currently there is intense competition for talent. This program is a great way for organizations to take the temperature of their culture and how it’s resonating with today’s workers."
Sinders also noted that companies fostering a positive culture are more likely to succeed: "Companies on the right cultural track also are much more likely to be effective across the board and have increased productivity and overall success. We salute each of this year’s winners for their commitment to displaying best practices in their workplaces, which are enabling them to attract and retain employees."
The selection process was managed by the Workforce Research Group, utilizing employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. The winning companies represent over 30 cities and towns throughout Indiana.
This year saw an increase in smaller organizations applying, prompting a division within the small category into two groups: small-medium employee size category was introduced. According to Sinders, this change "better reflects the interest in the program, the prevalence of small businesses across the state and how the Indiana Chamber wants to champion the sector."
The awards will cover five categories based on company size: small (15-34 employees), small-medium (35-74 employees), medium (75-249 employees), large (250-999 employees), and major (1,000+ employees). Companies with out-of-state parent firms were eligible if they had at least 15 full-time employees in Indiana.
Among those honored were Edward Jones and KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), both recognized every year since the program's inception.
In addition to being celebrated at the April event, winners will feature in a special section of BizVoice magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick. Other partners include HR Indiana SHRM, Institute for Workforce Excellence, Wellness Council of Indiana, and Workforce Research Group.
All participating companies receive detailed evaluations identifying strengths and weaknesses from their employees' perspectives. These insights can aid in enhancing employee retention and recruitment strategies.
