U.S. Senator Todd Young from Indiana, alongside a group of colleagues, has reintroduced the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act. This proposed legislation aims to direct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to mandate that automakers include AM broadcast radio in their new vehicles without additional charges.
Senator Young emphasized the importance of AM radio in maintaining public safety in Indiana, stating, “AM radio plays a vital role in preserving public safety across Indiana. By delivering important weather updates, local news, and emergency and disaster response information, this bill will ensure Hoosiers – especially those in the most rural areas – continue to have access to this critical communication tool.”
