U.S. Senator Todd Young, alongside his Senate Republican colleagues, has condemned Iran-backed Hamas on the anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attacks in Israel. The group has expressed support for Israel's survival and called for the release of American hostages.
Senator Young stated, "Today marks the one year anniversary of the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. As our resolution makes clear, we condemn Hamas for its brutal terrorist attack on Israel, reject the age-old sickness of antisemitism, and demand the safe release of remaining hostages from the Gaza Strip. The United States stands with Israel and supports its right to defend itself."
The resolution introduced by all Republicans in the U.S. Senate outlines a united stance against Hamas' actions. It condemns their use of rape as a weapon of war and emphasizes Israel's right to self-defense. The resolution also highlights the necessity to prevent Hamas from regrouping in order to avoid a repeat of such events. Additionally, it opposes violent antisemitic protests.
