Butler men's soccer midfielder Tommy Visser has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week by the BIG EAST Conference for his performance in the Bulldogs' 3-3 draw with No. 19 Xavier.
In the closing seconds of the match with Xavier, and with the Musketeers holding on to a 3-2 lead, Visser was on the back end of a Butler throw-in that was first redirected by Perrin Barnes and Palmer Ault. The redshirt-junior from Grand Rapids, Mich., got the final touch and scored with just 13 seconds remaining on the game clock. Visser totaled two of Butler's eight shots in the game.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday evening, hosting Providence in the quarterfinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament.
