1

City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is seeking musicians and bands to apply to participate in the 2022 Performing Arts Series, which takes place May through August in City parks throughout Bloomington.

Click here for the online Performing Arts Series artist application. Applications are accepted online through Jan. 14, 2022.

Performers are selected by a jury based on type and quality of performance, availability, past performance record, and cost. Those interested in applying to perform next summer must submit an artist application online; the link to the application is available at bloomington.in.gov/concerts.

Applicants must include within the application links to online music or mp3s, with at least three examples of original music and publicity for the individual or group. Applications must be received by the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department no later than Jan. 14, 2022 at 5 p.m. to receive full consideration.

Applications will be accepted until all performance dates are filled. Booking takes place late January through February 2022.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation has a long history of providing free music and theatrical performances in city parks, and of showcasing local musical talent. The summer Performing Arts Series provides several delightful venues for outdoor performances, and promotes music as a way for local residents to experience different musical cultures and to bring neighborhoods together.
