More than 800 Hoosiers have already signed up for the Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans (INFB), according to Hoosier AG Today. INFB was long supported by Indiana Republicans.
“We were really impressed so far with our numbers here. We have bound 860 health plans for a Jan. 1 effective date so we’re really happy with that,” INFB Health Plans Manager Patrick Williams said. “Even more happy is that we are approving applications at 79.74 percent. Again, that’s a really encouraging number and we’re anticipating, once we have the law of large numbers throughout the year, we’re going to be between 80 and 85 percent.”
Indiana House Republicans had previously announced that “those who do not have access to group insurance plans, have fewer than two employees or do not qualify for significant Affordable Care Act subsidies could benefit” from this and that with INFB, “it will be a robust plan that will help families with essential health benefits, such as office visits, prescription drug benefits, preventative services, and maternity and newborn care.”
