U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) has announced several staff changes in his office. Lauren O’Brien will become the new Chief of Staff, succeeding John Connell, who had served in the position since 2011 and recently left for the private sector.

O’Brien has been Young’s Legislative Director since April 2020. She played a key role in developing legislative strategies and building relationships with Indiana officials and stakeholders. Before joining Young’s team, she worked in both the private sector and the U.S. House of Representatives. O’Brien graduated from Saint Mary’s College in South Bend.

“Lauren is a trusted advisor and a respected leader with deep knowledge of the Senate. She has played a critical role in the major policy wins our team has achieved for Hoosiers,” said Young. “I am excited for her to step into this new role and continue her service to Indiana and our country.”

Greg Warren, previously Tax Counsel, will now serve as Legislative Director for Senator Young. Warren was formerly Legislative Director for Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16).

Jorie Allen has joined Young’s office as Press Assistant. Allen is from Bedford and graduated from DePaul University, where she played basketball and earned multiple Big East All-Academic Team honors.

Senator Young addresses issues affecting communities such as affordable housing and veterans’ support, according to his official website. He also focuses on conservative policies including national security, economic growth, housing affordability, veterans’ issues, and artificial intelligence (source).

Young serves on several Senate committees: Finance; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Intelligence (source). His background includes degrees from institutions like the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Chicago, University of London, and Indiana University (source).
