In Iowa/Minnesota and the Western Cornbelt regions, weighted averages were similar at $94.75 for carcass price and around $68-69 for live weight prices.
The Eastern Cornbelt’s weighted average live price was reported at $70.80; however, some specific figures were not disclosed due to confidentiality rules set by reporting standards. The national daily pork report showed a carcass cutout value of 95.10 dollars per hundredweight with a change of minus 0.87 from the previous day.
Daily estimated hog slaughter reached 488,000 head—down slightly from last week but up compared to a year ago when it was recorded at about 469,397 head over the same period last year.
