The United States Department of Agriculture released its National Daily Feeder and Stocker Cattle PM Summary for Wednesday, May 27 in St. Joseph, Missouri. The report provides auction summaries, market prices, and futures settlements for livestock and grain across several markets.

Auction data included the CME Feeder Cattle Index at $380 on Tuesday, with Beaver Livestock in Beaver, Oklahoma reporting feeder steers weighing 600-700 pounds at $446.00 and feeder heifers between 500-600 pounds ranging from $411.00 to $430.00. Kingsville Livestock in Kingsville, Missouri listed feeder steers from 400-500 pounds at $452.50-$565.00 and feeder heifers from 300-400 pounds at $507.50-$612.50.

Ozarks Regional Stockyards in West Plains, Missouri reported feeder steers weighing 300-400 pounds at $695.00, while comparable weight heifers were listed at $525.00. Futures settlements on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange showed live cattle contracts for June closing at 251.425 with a change of +3.200, while August contracts settled at 354.625 with a change of +5.175.

The report also detailed grain futures settlements from the Chicago Board of Trade and Kansas City Board of Trade as well as accumulated weekly slaughter cattle prices across five areas, with live steer averages reported at $256 per hundredweight for head counts averaging around 1,625.
