Medium and large frame steers weighing 700-800 pounds were reported at prices between $378.00 and $410.00, with heifers in the same category selling from $340.00 to $363.00.
Additional data was provided for Ericson Livestock in Ericson, Nebraska; AMS_1853 with a Saturday headcount of 1,633; Herried Livestock in Herried, South Dakota; AMS_2024 with a Friday headcount of 1,179; Torrington Livestock in Torrington, Wyoming; as well as price trends across different weight classes for both steers and heifers.
The report also detailed livestock futures settlements on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for live cattle (June contracts settled at 249.000) and feeder cattle (August contracts settled at 351.550). Grain futures settlements were included from both the Chicago Board of Trade (corn July contract at 4.4400) and Kansas City Board of Trade (wheat July contract at 6.4700).
Daily estimated boxed beef cutout values showed Choice cuts at $392.83 per hundredweight for loads between 600-900 pounds, while Select cuts were reported at $383.09 per hundredweight over nine loads traded that day.
