According to the summary, the daily estimated choice cutout value was $392.32 and select was $385.58, with a spread of $6.74 between choice and select grades for carcasses weighing between 600-900 pounds. Primal rib values were reported at $544.30 for choice and $517.37 for select, while primal chuck values stood at $333.74 and $335.93, respectively.
Load counts included a total of 125 loads: 89 choice, 13 select, eight trimmings, and fourteen grinds. Fresh 50% trimmings traded at an average price of $187.12 per hundredweight across eight loads.
Live steer prices averaged $256 per hundredweight on a head count of thirty-four steers averaging 1,625 pounds each; live heifer data showed similar trends with dressed heifers averaging a price of $405 per hundredweight at an average weight of 948 pounds across one hundred fifty-five head counted by late morning.
Estimated cattle slaughter totaled 110,000 head for the day with week-to-date totals reaching 329,000 compared to last week’s same period figure of 427,000 head; year-ago levels were higher at approximately 364,066 head during this timeframe last year.
