The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has announced its endorsement of Mark Messmer for the United States House of Representatives. Messmer is running to represent Indiana's 8th Congressional District. The endorsement highlights his experience and record as a small business owner.
Natalie Robinson, NFIB Indiana State Director, emphasized Messmer's understanding of small business needs. "As a small business owner and NFIB member, Mark Messmer knows firsthand less government creates more jobs," she said. Robinson pointed out Messmer's 92% voting record in the Indiana Senate, aligning with priorities such as job growth and reducing regulations. "Now more than ever, small businesses need strong advocates in Congress, and we are certain Mark Messmer will continue to be a reliable voice for Indiana’s Main Street," Robinson added.
Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director, also praised Messmer. "Mark Messmer is a successful, multi-generational small business owner and operator," she said. She believes Messmer's experience will enable him to represent small business interests effectively in Congress. "We know he will keep small businesses in mind when debating policy, and we are pleased to endorse him today," Sussin stated.
The endorsement comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization's political action committee. The committee's funding derives from voluntary contributions by NFIB members, separate from their membership dues. Decisions by the NFIB FedPAC are based on a grassroots evaluation by its members.
