INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 10, 2024) - Indiana Republican Party Communications Director Griffin Reid issued a statement regarding Democrat nominee Jennifer McCormick's silence on President Biden's recent debate performance and concerns about his cognitive health.

"Democrat nominee Jennifer McCormick still has not commented on the disastrous debate from the leader of her party, President Joe Biden," Reid stated. "As national Democrats call for Biden to end his campaign after his obvious cognitive decline was on full display 13 days ago, Jennifer McCormick still has yet to answer if she thinks Biden is fit to serve as President or if she wants Biden at the top of the Indiana Democrat ticket with her in November."

Reid further criticized McCormick for avoiding questions about her stance on whether Biden should resign following the debate. "This follows a pattern of McCormick refusing to answer basic questions about what she believes," he said. "She has not said if Joe Biden should resign the office of President after his cognitive decline became undeniable at the debate or if she still supports Biden at the top of her Democrat ticket."

McCormick has also not disclosed whether she will vote for Biden in November or who she voted for in previous elections. According to Reid, "72% of American voters said Biden does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as President following the June 27 debate... What does Jennifer McCormick think? No one knows."

Senator Braun shared his perspective on the matter: "Last night’s debate was a disaster for Joe Biden, who was lost and confused about how his extreme liberal policies have hurt Americans. President Trump showed he is focused and ready to end the crisis on the border, reverse the inflation crisis hurting Hoosier families, and enact bold America First solutions I’m running for Governor to bring to Indiana as well."

In an appearance on Fox Business, Sen. Braun questioned Biden's capability: “How can you have someone that is obviously showing these signs running the toughest business in the world - the federal government - with all the challenges that are out there?”
