Last week, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) visited the Indiana University (IU) Technology Park and met with IU students and faculty. During the visit, Senator Young toured the Cyberinfrastructure Building (CIB) and learned about IU’s I-Light program, a high-speed fiber optic network connecting research and education communities across the state.

Young also toured IU’s Data Center and observed Big Red 200, a supercomputer designed to support advanced research in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data analytics. The visit concluded with project updates from students and faculty in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering.

“I appreciated the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible AI innovation and research taking place at Indiana University. I continue to be encouraged by the contributions students and faculty at IU are adding to our state’s leadership in AI and other emerging technologies,” said Senator Young.
