The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), has awarded $56 million to support HRSA-funded health centers in their commitment to high-quality care via new investments in modernized technology. These health centers provide primary care to 30 million people, serving patients regardless of their ability to pay.
HRSA-funded health centers are recognized leaders in healthcare quality. To further enhance quality improvement, HRSA is adopting a modernized Uniform Data System (UDS+). This system will create automated reporting platforms for quality and performance management, streamlining backend work.
Award recipients may use this supplemental funding for new equipment, meeting interoperability standards, and providing data management training to staff.
Additional information about the Quality Improvement Award: UDS+ can be found on its webpage. Technical assistance information for awardees will be provided during the July UDS Test Cooperative (UTC) meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 17 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET. Non-members must register to receive log-in information for the TA meeting using the BPHC Contact Form.
The UTC includes staff from health centers, Primary Care Associations, Health Center Controlled Networks, and health IT vendors. Monthly meetings are held along with bimonthly UDS+ Testing Office Hours hosted by BPHC staff. More details can be found on the UTC webpage. Members can access recordings of past meetings and register for upcoming ones via the Health Center Program Community (HCPC).
For questions about the Quality Improvement Award or joining the UTC, individuals should use the BPHC Contact Form.
