City of Carmel issued the following announcement on Sept. 1.
After careful consultation with State Health Officials and review of current COVID data, the Carmel Police and Fire Departments have decided to cancel the 2021 Carmel Public Safety Day, which had been scheduled for September 18. With the number of positive cases and hospitalizations on the rise in central Indiana - and because this event attracts many young people who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated - we believe it is in the best interest of public health to not go forward with the event this year. We look forward to having the event at full capacity next year.
Questions regarding this cancellation should be directed to Lt. Tim Byrne at tbyrne@carmel.in.gov or 317-571-2500.
