U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) has expressed support for the Senate’s confirmation of Justin Olson as a United States District Judge for the Southern District of Indiana.
“Justin is a Hoosier through and through, with a distinguished record of public service, legal excellence, and respect for the rule of law,” said Young. “Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated the integrity, judgment, and temperament that are essential for service on the federal bench. I look forward to his service.”
Olson is currently engaged in civil litigation at an Indianapolis law firm, where he has worked on complex cases and addressed discrimination against women in college sports. His previous roles include serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District and clerking for Chief Justice Loretta Rush on the Indiana Supreme Court. Olson graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and summa cum laude from Grove City College.
The Southern District of Indiana includes divisions in Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Evansville, and New Albany.
Senator Young’s work in the Senate covers issues such as affordable housing and veterans’ support, according to his official website. He also focuses on conservative policies related to national security, economic growth, housing affordability, veterans’ issues, and artificial intelligence (source). Young serves on several Senate committees including Finance; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Intelligence (source). His educational background includes degrees from institutions such as the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Chicago, University of London, and Indiana University (source). He also served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer.
