The United States Senate has unanimously approved a resolution to recognize February 2026 as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. The measure was introduced by Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), and Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), who serve as co-chairs of the Senate Career and Technical Education Caucus.
The resolution emphasizes the significance of CTE in preparing a skilled workforce for the nation, positioning it as a valuable educational pathway for students.
“This resolution recognizes the importance of career and technical education and encourages more educators and students to seek out CTE programs. Preparing the students of today for the jobs of tomorrow will lead to more opportunities, a stronger economy, and a highly skilled workforce,” said Senator Young.

Senator Young has also addressed other community issues such as affordable housing and veterans’ support, according to his official website. His legislative focus includes national security, economic growth, housing affordability, veterans’ issues, and artificial intelligence. He has served on key Senate committees like Finance; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Intelligence. Young’s background includes degrees from institutions such as the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Chicago, University of London, and Indiana University. He represents Indiana with offices in several locations across the state. Additionally, he played a role in advancing legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act to strengthen U.S. semiconductor manufacturing.
