Notre Dame men’s lacrosse announced on Apr. 28 that Thomas Ricciardelli, Shawn Lyght, and Kevin Corrigan have received major Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honors as voted by the league’s coaches.
These awards highlight the team’s achievements during the regular season and recognize individual contributions to Notre Dame’s success in conference play.
Ricciardelli was named ACC Goalie of the Year, becoming only the second player from Notre Dame to earn this honor since its creation in 2023. He leads the ACC in save percentage at 59.1 percent and goals against average at 8.06, ranking among the top five nationally in both categories. Ricciardelli has recorded a save percentage of .500 or higher in nine out of eleven games this season and made a season-high seventeen saves against Duke.
Lyght earned his second consecutive ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Year award, marking Notre Dame’s eighth time receiving this recognition since it was established in 2012. He joins Matt Landis and Liam Entenmann as one of only three players in league history to win Defensive Player of the Year multiple times.
Corrigan was selected as ACC Coach of the Year for guiding Notre Dame to an ACC regular season title with a ten-win, one-loss record. The team achieved four victories over top-five ranked opponents during regular-season matchups, each by at least four goals.
Additionally, Notre Dame tied for most All-ACC Team selections with four honorees: Ricciardelli, Lyght, Will Donovan—who became just the third Irish player ever to be named All-ACC all four years—and Matt Jeffery who previously won ACC Freshman of the Year last season.
The Fighting Irish are set to begin postseason play with an ACC Tournament semifinal game against Virginia on Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m., which will be broadcast on ACCN.
