State Rep. Bob Heaton welcomed Terre Haute resident Lydia Grant, a student at Clay City Jr./Sr. High School, to the Statehouse on May 18 as part of the Indiana House Page Program during the 2026 legislative session.
The program gives students a chance to see how state government works by allowing them to interact with lawmakers and staff, tour the Statehouse, and observe legislative proceedings from the House floor.
“There’s no substitute for seeing the legislation process up close,” Heaton said. “The page program offers that experience firsthand.”
During her visit, Grant participated in various activities designed to educate students about lawmaking and public service.
Students ages 13 to 18 interested in participating in future sessions can learn more about serving as a page during the upcoming legislative session by visiting indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram.
Heaton represents House District 46, which includes all of Owen County and portions of Clay, Monroe, and Vigo counties.
