State Rep. Kendell Culp honored Myles McLaughlin of Knox Community High School with a House District Declaration for his accomplishments during the last football season, according to an April 22 announcement.
McLaughlin, who played as a running back, set national records by achieving 4,846 rushing yards and scoring 71 rushing touchdowns in a single season. He was recognized as the 2025 Indiana Mr. Football and received the Gatorade Player of the Year award in football for Indiana. His efforts helped lead Knox to the Class 3A semi-state championship, and he has signed to play at Murray State University next season.
“Congratulations to Myles for an outstanding season and amazing statewide and national recognition,” Culp said. “Breaking both state and national records, we are all excited to see what he will do in the next phase of his football career.”
The Mr. Football award is given each year to Indiana’s top high school football player, while the Gatorade Player of the Year recognizes student athletes who succeed both on and off the field.
A House District Declaration is awarded locally within House District 16 to individuals who have served their community with distinction or made a positive impact on others’ lives.
