The University of Notre Dame announced on Apr. 15 that its women’s softball game against Northwestern has been postponed because of expected bad weather in the South Bend area.
The postponement affects fans and players who were preparing for the midweek matchup, and a new date for the game will be shared once it is decided.
According to the university, “A makeup date will be announced at a later date.” The decision was made with safety in mind as weather forecasts indicated conditions would not be suitable for play.
Looking ahead, Notre Dame’s softball team will travel this weekend for its final Atlantic Coast Conference road series of the season. The Irish are set to face Syracuse starting Friday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The games will be available on ACC Network Extra.
This schedule change comes as teams across the region continue to adjust plans due to unpredictable spring weather.
