Notre Dame was initially predicted to finish eleventh in the conference preseason poll but improved its standing by winning five out of its last six conference games, including a sweep against Boston College. This late surge helped propel the team into eighth place for the tournament.
Second-year head coach Kris Ganeff led Notre Dame to eleven conference wins this season, which is four more than during her first year coaching the team.
