The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s lacrosse team will close out its regular season against Syracuse at Arlotta Stadium on April 25. The game, which is scheduled for noon Eastern Time, will be streamed on ACCNX and admission is free.
This matchup holds significance as both teams are ranked in the top five nationally, with Notre Dame entering as the number one team and Syracuse at number five. The contest marks the 24th meeting between the two programs, with Notre Dame trailing slightly in the all-time series but having won ten of the last fourteen games.
Notre Dame has performed strongly against ranked opponents since 2023, posting a record of 29-8 against such teams and remaining undefeated this season versus ranked competition. Their defense has been a key factor, allowing just eight goals per game—third best nationally—and limiting several high-profile opponents to their lowest scoring outputs of the year. Individual standouts include Schwitzenberg, who has twice earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, and Lyght, named USA Lacrosse Preseason Defenseman of the Year for 2026.
Goalkeeper Thomas Ricciardelli returns after earning his starting role last year. He currently holds a save percentage above .600 in most recent games and was recognized as ACC Defensive Player of the Week following notable performances against Duke and North Carolina. On offense, four players have scored at least seventeen points each through ten games this season.
Head coach Kevin Corrigan continues to set records during his tenure at Notre Dame. With over three decades leading the program, Corrigan became NCAA Division I’s all-time wins leader at a single school following a victory over Duke in April 2021.
