The Notre Dame men’s basketball program announced on May 26 the addition of Yoro Diallo to its 2026-27 roster. Glenn & Stacey Murphy Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry said Diallo will bring depth and versatility to the team.
Diallo, a 6-foot-9 forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, spent three years at Winthrop University—playing two seasons—where he was teammates with current Irish center Logan Duncomb. Both attended Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, where Diallo played both basketball and soccer.
“We’re excited to welcome Yoro to our program,” Shrewsberry said. “Yoro can impact the game in a lot of different ways with his scoring, rebounding, & playmaking ability. At 6’9 with a 7’0 wingspan, he has the size, length, & athleticism to be able to affect the game defensively as well.”
During his time at Winthrop, Diallo averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in just over seven minutes per game across two seasons. He transferred last year to UVA Wise—a Division II school—where he led the Cavaliers with averages of 14.5 points and eight rebounds per game while shooting nearly fifty percent from the field. He also recorded a team-high ninety-five assists.
Diallo began last season with five consecutive double-doubles and finished with eight overall for UVA Wise’s twenty-win team. He produced three games scoring at least twenty points and earned Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors.
