Felipe Bautista-Ramirez, a 29-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to the felony charge of reentry of a removed alien. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon, according to an announcement from Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor.

After serving his prison term, Bautista-Ramirez will be subject to one year of supervised release. This period of supervision will apply if he remains in or returns to the United States within that timeframe following expected removal proceedings.

Court documents indicate that Bautista-Ramirez has an arrest history that includes theft charges. He had previously been removed from the United States twice, once in May 2024 and again in September 2024.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with support from the Hobart Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Nadia Wardrip prosecuted the case.
