Colts vice president of football communications Matt Conti was named the recipient of the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association’s 2026 Bob Williams Helping Hand Award earlier this month.
The award is given to recognize individuals in Indiana who have assisted local media in their coverage of sports events or teams. It is open to those working at the high school, college, or professional level within the state.
The Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association began presenting the Bob Williams Helping Hand Award in 2002. The organization itself was founded in 1946. The award honors sports information directors and media relations staffers for their support of journalists covering athletics across Indiana.
Conti has been part of the Colts’ communications department since 2011. Over his tenure, he has worked with both local and national reporters to facilitate access and storytelling about Colts players, coaches, and staff members.
In addition to this latest recognition, Conti and the Colts’ communications team were previously awarded the Pete Rozelle Award by the Pro Football Writers Association in 2020. That honor is presented annually to a club public relations staff that “consistently strives for excellence in its dealings and relationships with the media.”
