The American Legion announced on May 7 that Liverpool Invasion will headline the National Commander’s Banquet during the organization’s 107th National Convention. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the ballroom of the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville.

The announcement highlights that Liverpool Invasion is a live act designed to evoke Beatlemania, featuring four young musicians who mirror the age, vocal style, and energy of The Beatles during their first visit to America. Attendees interested in purchasing tickets are directed to contact their department adjutant.

In addition to entertainment details, The American Legion released its 2026 Convention Marketing Opportunities Guide. This guide provides information about exhibitor booths and sponsorship levels available for businesses and organizations at legion.org/convention.

The statement also reminds participants that applications for the National Color Guard Contest are due by June 26. The contest will take place on Friday, Aug. 28, in Hall D of the convention center and includes five classes: Advancing/Retiring of Colors, Military, Military-Open, Open and JROTC Drill. After a break in 2025, organizers confirm that the National Concert Band Contest will return this year on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m., also held in Hall D with both Concert Band and Exhibition Concert Band categories.

The upcoming events mark key moments for members and attendees as they prepare for annual traditions such as competitions and performances within The American Legion community.
