The American Legion reported on May 15 that its national staff participated in a virtual MilitaryHire event held on May 13, where they provided information to veterans about benefits and employment opportunities.

The event was attended by approximately 3,400 job seekers. The American Legion’s involvement aimed to connect with veterans and help them better understand the resources available to them.

Through a virtual booth, national staff spoke with veterans about their benefits, employment possibilities at the Legion itself, membership options, and other employment and education benefits. Steven Betsch, Veterans Employment and Education Division Policy Associate for The American Legion, said the organization “made connections with multiple veterans who shared stories about their experience using their benefits.”

“We are engaging with a number of veterans that we are providing follow-up assistance with, mainly helping them with Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) benefits,” Betsch added.

Future MilitaryHire virtual events are scheduled for June 11 and July 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Time. More information is available at MilitaryHire.com.
