Indiana State University students raised $35,122.88 for Riley Children’s Hospital during the annual State Dance Marathon held on campus last Saturday, according to an April 24 announcement.
The event is part of a longstanding tradition at Indiana State University that brings together students and supporters to help children facing serious illnesses. The marathon aims to raise both funds and awareness for patients at Riley Children’s Hospital through a variety of engaging activities.
During the six-hour event, participants danced, played games, and took part in themed activities designed to maintain high spirits while focusing attention on the needs of children receiving care at Riley. An art auction featuring paintings created by hospital patients was also held. Several pieces received competitive bids from attendees, further connecting the university community with those they support.
Organizers said the event fostered connection and reflection among attendees. Activities encouraged broad participation and highlighted the resilience of children and families served by Riley Children’s Hospital.
The total amount raised reflects what organizers described as ongoing commitment from Indiana State University students toward service and collective action. Those who were unable to attend can still contribute online to support continued care, research, and resources for Riley patients.
