Common Cause Indiana has responded to news that the Indiana Senate will not pursue mid-decade redistricting during a December legislative session. This decision was indicated by Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray, whose office informed the media that there is insufficient support for such a measure.

Julia Vaughn, Executive Director of Common Cause Indiana, issued a statement saying, “Despite the threats and bullying coming from out-of-state interests, state senators are listening to the Hoosiers they represent by rejecting mid-decade redistricting. Thank you to our senators for standing up for Hoosiers and for doing what is right.”

Polling at both the state and national levels indicates that most Americans, including Republicans and those who voted for Donald Trump in 2024, do not support changing district boundaries outside of the regular redistricting cycle.
