The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced on Apr. 24 that it will hold the 2026 Indiana Workers’ Compensation Conference on May 5 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel, with a virtual attendance option also available. The event is presented by attorneys from Kightlinger & Gray LLP and aims to help businesses understand and comply with workers’ compensation laws.

The conference addresses the importance of keeping employees safe while helping companies improve their workers’ compensation programs. Topics include navigating real-life fact patterns, prevention of hand, wrist and arm injuries, an employment law lightning round, mental health injury overviews, and understanding the Indiana Independent Medical Examination process.

“Between medical expenses, wages and the challenges of reduced productivity, the average cost of a work-related injury is roughly $40,000,” said Jennifer George, Indiana Chamber vice president of business education and events. “Employers that prioritize safety are not only doing the right thing ethically, but they can also help their business’ bottom line.”

Additional sessions will cover best practices for handling claims under the Indiana Workers’ Compensation Act as well as upper-extremity injury causation and treatment. Registration costs $449 for members or $549 for non-members; companies sending two or more attendees can use promo code GROUP20 for a discount.

Sponsors include Institute for Workforce Excellence (HR Series sponsor), Genesis Comp Concussion (gold sponsor), along with several silver sponsors such as Charles Taylor and OrthoIndy. More information about registration is available at www.indianachamber.com/conferences.

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce promotes economic prosperity across communities statewide according to its official website. It partners with over 25,000 members representing more than one million Hoosiers according to its official website.
