Governor Mike Braun announced on May 29 new appointments and reappointments to a range of Indiana state boards and commissions. The selections include individuals from various counties and professional backgrounds, with terms ranging from fixed expiration dates to serving at the pleasure of the governor.
Among those appointed are Linda Mynhier to the Home Inspectors Licensing Board, Kelly Brown to the Indiana Pesticide Review Board, Dr. Rachel Shockley and Grace Greist reappointed to the Graduate Medical Education Board, Barry Gardner reappointed to the Board of Trustees of the Indiana Public Retirement System, BR Lane and Eric Williams appointed to the Indiana Gaming Commission, and Kate Shelby named to the State Workforce Development Board. Other appointees include Deana Haworth and Emily Langston for roles on the Governor’s Residence Commission; Tomeika Anderson for the Behavior Analyst Committee; Ben Flint for the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board; Jacqueline Joyner Cissell, Monica Kozlowski, and Alejandra Guzman Greavu for positions on the Indiana Cultural Commission; Jennifer Messer, Carolyn Anker, and Lawren Mills for posts with White River State Park Development Commission; Eric Reyes as a member of Union Hospital’s board; Kelsey Cook for Indiana State Commission on Aging; Mark Schroeder reappointed as trustee at Department of Financial Institutions; Jason Fisher joining Secured School Safety Board; Mary Beth Boone selected for Indiana Real Estate Commission.
Further appointments include Kim Cooper reappointed to State Board of Nursing; Cory Cochran returning as part of Utility Regulatory Commission Nominating Committee; Lisa Gomperts, Debra Schmucker (both reappointments), along with Diana Brenner named to Board of Registration for Architects and Landscape Architects. Connie Basham was appointed director at Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites board while John Westercamp was selected for a term on Indiana Election Commission.
Braun has contributed extensively in public service through school board roles, state representation, business leadership that expanded his company nationally employing thousands, championing over 40 bills into law during his Senate tenure, graduating summa cum laude in economics from Wabash College before earning an MBA from Harvard Business School—and later winning election first as U.S. Senator in 2018 then becoming governor—according to the official website.
