Governor Mike Braun traveled across Indiana last week to emphasize job growth, rising wages, workforce readiness, small businesses, and public safety, according to a May 29 announcement.
“My top priority is affordability, and in addition to lowering prices on essentials like gasoline through our gas tax suspension, the most important thing we can do to make life more affordable is facilitate new jobs and higher wages for Hoosiers. Indiana is open for business, and everywhere I go across our state I see businesses adapting, serving their communities, and creating new jobs for Hoosiers,” Governor Mike Braun said.
Braun spoke at the RV Industry Power Breakfast in Elkhart County about Indiana’s business climate and the significance of the RV industry. He also addressed attendees at the NWI Times Business & Industry Hall of Fame in Merrillville on Wednesday to honor regional business leaders and discuss efforts to bring new jobs and higher wages.
During his travels, Braun visited Fingerhut Bakery in North Judson for a community conversation with farmers, small business owners, and local leaders about small-town business growth. He also toured Ivy Tech Community College’s Valparaiso campus to highlight workforce readiness pathways such as Nursing, Welding, HVAC & Energy Technology—programs that offer industry-recognized credentials without student debt.
Braun recognized National EMS Week at Monroe County Fire Department Station 25 by honoring first responders who provided emergency medical care over 3,000 times per day in 2025. Additional stops included meetings with Mayor Scott A. Long in Wabash and Mayor Tyler Moore in Kokomo.
Braun has contributed to public service through roles on school boards and state representation; achieved company growth into a national entity employing thousands; championed over 40 bills that became law during his Senate term; graduated summa cum laude from Wabash College with an economics degree; earned an MBA from Harvard Business School; won election to the U.S. Senate in 2018 before becoming governor; and has been married for 49 years while raising four children—all according to the official website.
