Frances Rivera, USS Special Projects Coordinator at Indianapolis Public Schools, was named a 2026 Fund for Teachers Fellow according to an Apr. 27 announcement. She joins a group of 337 educators across the country who received this recognition.
The fellowship will allow Rivera to travel to Greece in the summer for specialized training on Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs. Her plans include completing two Europass Teacher Academy courses and visiting historical sites such as the Acropolis and Meteora monasteries.
“Through this fellowship, I will strengthen my ability to design and implement inclusive, evidence-based instruction for neurodiverse learners by combining advanced professional learning with immersive cultural experiences,” Rivera said.
Rivera intends to share her new knowledge upon returning by leading professional development sessions within the district and collaborating with her team. She aims to build capacity so that all students—especially those with ASD and ADHD—can learn in supportive environments.
